I think that communication technology makes the world "smaller" because it connects people much much easier. Sam, in my group thinks that communication technology has improved the lives of many people buy linking them together in a circle of fast communication.
Noah, thinks that communication has made the 'distance' between people shorter, as in it is much easier to communicate faster.
Back in the day, people had to use letters to communicate and this would usually take a really long time. It was possible to make this quicker by sending messengers but this is still a lengthy process.
Communication nowadays, people can message others over the internet instantly, or on the phone in a 'real time' conversation. I think this has helped move the world forward a lot since it doesn't take ages just to get a message to someone. Also it helped the make the world smaller because people can now communicate instantly even if one is in China and the other in Brazil.
Televisions are the earliest version of of the laptops we use today. Also the first phones are some of the first forms of transmitting data through cables.
